At The Center for Black WellBEing, we believe that what we believe about healing shapes how we care for ourselves and experience wellBEing. That is why we are launching the What Do You Believe About Healing? Movement.
Between now and our birthday in August, our goal is to gather 1,000 reflections on one simple but powerful question:
What do you believe about healing...right now?
There is no right answer. This is not therapy. This is not advice. This is simply an invitation to pause, reflect, and name what feels true for you in this moment.
Your response might be: A word. A sentence. A poem. A memory. A belief you are questioning. A definition that is evolving.
Together, we are building a living archive of what healing means across our community.

Help us make our healing beliefs visible.
The Center for Black WellBEing (CBW) is a Black woman–owned wellness and consulting firm. We design and facilitate experiences that expand how people understand healing, mental health, and wellBEing.
Our work operates at the level of consciousness and culture—supporting individuals and groups in developing new perspectives, practices, and possibilities for wellness.
Many approaches to wellBEing focus on what people should do.
Our work focuses on how people understand what it means to be well in the first place.
We design interactive, arts-based experiences that combine reflection, creativity, play, and embodied practice. Drawing from cultural and intergenerational knowledge, our work supports deeper engagement, personal insight, and lasting impact.
We partner with:
schools and universities
nonprofits and community organizations
leadership programs and teams
cultural and creative institutions
We also create community-centered experiences for Black people through offerings like The Digital Oasis—a space for exploring wellBEing in ways that are accessible, creative, and rooted in community.
